CHILDREN'S AUDITION WORKSHOP FOR DOCTOR ZHIVAGO

Queenie van de Zandt
Presents CHILDREN’S AUDITION WORKSHOP
for
DOCTOR ZHIVAGO

Just when we thought the auditioning year was finished – Gordon Frost announced this week that they need boys and girls for Doctor Zhivago! Queenie van de Zandt, one of Australia’s leading musical theatre stars and Australia’s leading teacher of audition technique for musicals, is hosting a workshop on Sunday 5th of December to help children prepare for the auditions.
Queenie’s recent workshop to prepare children for the Mary Poppins auditions was a huge success, with a number of participants making it to the final rounds, plus she has past students currently performing in Jersey Boys, Wicked, Fame, Mary Poppins and two of her former students recently landed the lead roles in Hairspray and Rock of Ages! If the past success of Queenie’s students is anything to go by, this could be your child’s opportunity to make it big!
Queenie van de Zandt is a Sydney based performer and teacher, having most recently wowed Sydney audiences as the Bearded Lady in the Sydney Festival’s, Helpmann Award winning, Smoke & Mirrors. She has been nominated for numerous Helpmann, Sydney Theatre and Green Room awards for her performances in shows such as: Oliver!, Women of Troy, I GET THE MUSIC IN YOU, an evening with Jan van de Stool, The Full Monty, and The Boy From Oz. She teaches in the music department at NIDA and over the past 10 years, Queenie has garnered the reputation of being Australia’s leading teacher of Audition Technique for Musical Theatre.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for any child who loves performing to work with one of Australia’s best and learn how to stand out in an audition.
“Queenie’s masterclass changed the way I think as a performer . . . within a fortnight I had been cast in a professional musical.”
F. Pearson, Course Graduate, June 2010
“Queenie’s course is set in a trusting and focussed environment. I highly recommend [it] to anyone serious in learning how to audition for a musical and what the professional panels are looking for in a performer’s audition.”
Darren Yap, Director Mamma Mia!, Miss Siaigon, Steel Magnolias
“Rebekah made it through to the final round of auditions today for Mary Poppins …your workshop gave her great confidence and an understanding of what she might face…we can’t thank you enough for this”.
R. Liepa, Parent of Children’s Workshop Participant, NSW
