STRUT Invites Applicants to the 2018 Maxine Doyle Program

Workshops, Audition, Scholarships | Feb 2018

“Maxine Doyle is the best thing on the STRUT Program so far. She brings you to the edge of what a stage artist can become…and then pushes you right over!” -Maxine Doyle workshop participant
WA-based STRUT Dance is very proud to be deepening its three-year partnership with Maxine Doyle, the choreographic wunderkind behind such seminal works as Sleep No More and The Drowned Man, and her own recent independent creation After Lethe.
In 2018, Maxine will be delivering the next level of master workshops with her team – Sarah Dowling and Conor Doyle – all founding members of Punchdrunk. Sarah and Conor will join Maxine to continue unpacking the core principles and methodology that has made her vision so sought after the world over. The intention is to devise an original performance with a cohort of creatives from across this program, culminating in performances in 2019.
For 2018, strategic partnerships have been set up with Tura New Music, Community Arts Network and independent director/actor/writer Jeffrey Jay Fowler to invite artists from other disciplines into the process in order to build the multi-disciplinary and multicultural cast for the final performance outcome.
As well as the master workshop, STRUT is also offering a half day taster workshop and a separate audition for the first creative development (which will take place in September 2018).
