They’ve worked with pop royalty including Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, The Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha, and have just wrapped up their hugely successful season of X-Factor Australia. Now international dance choreographic team, The Squared Division, will be landing on the Gold Coast for a special one day dance workshop on January 11 to put our young dancers through their moves.
The Ultimate Dance Workshop series, hosted at Southport Community Centre, will feature some of the country’s best choreographers across all genres, to give budding dance enthusiasts and seasoned professionals the opportunity to learn from the best. Workshop choreographers also include Australian dance icon Matt Lee, So You Think You Can Dance resident choreographer, Jason Winters and leading Hip Hop choreographer Julliette Verne.
Presented by The Ultimate Dance Workshop, the love child of one of the Gold Coast’s most successful performers, now choreographer, Kate Wormald, this will be the 5th dance workshop to be hosted on the coast. Kate has been bringing national and international choreographers to the Gold Coast for 2 years, all in the name of giving back to the dance community that helped nurture her love for dance in the years growing up on the Gold Coast.
“We have worked really hard to secure our country’s elite choreographers and teachers, which is often a difficult task given their busy international schedules,” says Kate.
“It is not often that Queensland performers have the chance to attend professional workshops and I want to be able to give the Gold Coast the same dance coaching opportunities that performers in the capital cities receive.”
The Ultimate Dance Workshop will be held at the performing arts hub at Southport Community Centre and is open for ages 8 years and over, with a junior (ages 8-13) and senior (aged 14 and over) class.
