Dance at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in FLOCK

Dance theatre company Force Majeure are creating a new work – FLOCK – to be performed on the iconic Surfer’s Paradise beach as part of Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games‘ (GC2018) arts and culture program next April.
Artistic Director Danielle Micich will work with a team of artists to create FLOCK – a large scale site-specific performance staged across 500 metres of beach featuring 80 performers. 
Requirements: A trained background is preferable, either in contemporary dance, theatre, ballet or street dancing. Dancers must be good at remembering long sequences of detailed choreography. The work will involve the ability to work bare foot in sand, the capacity to rehearse the work on your own and an interest in performing within a large ensemble. Dancers must be 16+ years old.

Time commitment: Performers will need to be available all day for all performance dates and rehearsals. Performances are on the Gold Coast on the 12th – 15th April 2018, with rehearsals 9th – 11th April and two other weekend rehearsals TBC in February and March 2018.
