Paul Mathews retires from the RNZB

After 17 years with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Principal Paul Mathews is retiring from his distinguished career as a dancer.

Paul has been a core member of the company for countless performances across the country and around the world; he will be sorely missed as he moves on to a new chapter in his life and career.

We’ve seen Paul in lots of costumes over the years, but this one’s pretty special; he has just graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Finance, Japanese minor) from Massey University, after over a decade of extramural study alongside his dance career.

Paul’s final performances with the RNZB will be in Tutus on Tour in Auckland on 26 October (Due Drop Events Centre, Manukau), 28 – 29 October (Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna) and New Plymouth on 1 November (TSB Showplace).

Thank you, Paul, for everything you have given to ballet lovers and the dance community of Aotearoa, and the best of luck with all your future endeavours!
