Red Bull Dance Your Style is an all-styles, one-on-one battle, inviting dancers from all street disciplines to enter. Today, Red Bull Dance Your Style announces six state auditioning events in Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney in June. One week later, a series of four qualifier events will take place across Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney in June and July. All events are open to the public and invite audience members to witness the A-Z of street styles from hip-hop to popping, afro to ballroom, waacking and locking as dancers compete face-to-face.
In 2024, a series of state-based auditions will be held at Melbourne’s O2 Studio on June 2, Canberra’s Project Beats on June 15, Adelaide’s Pure Funk Dance on June 16, Perth’s The Spot Studio, Brisbane’s Mad Dance House and Sydney’s DUTI Studios on June 23. One week post-audition, state qualifiers will be held at Melbourne’s Chasers Nightclub on June 21, Brisbane’s Powerhouse on June 28, Perth’s Mess Hall on June 29, and Sydney’s Liberty Hall on June 30. Dancers will arm themselves with a unique reserve of moves in an opportunity to battle it out and win over the crowds for a place in the Red Bull Dance Your Style Weekender across July 19 to July 21. The crowned Australian champion of Red Bull Dance Your Style will board a plane to represent Australia at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Mumbai, India on November 9, 2024.
The audience will decide who takes home the title, as dancers are faced with random tracks from disparate genres – all curated by DJ Kez across multiple rounds. Each round consists of two battles before the crowd favourite is chosen and crowned to be the dance floor ruler.
Taking place across 130 events in more than 30 countries, Red Bull Dance Your Style celebrates dance and performance, to recreate the social, community and party atmosphere that street-dance styles originated from. The Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final held in Frankfurt in 2023 invited champions from 30 other countries and reached millions of views across YouTube and Instagram. Previous World Finals have been held in Paris and Johannesburg. In 2023, the Australian Red Bull Dance Your Style Final, was won by Sydney’s Jaya, his first crown that led him to represent Australia at the 2023 Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Frankfurt.
