Josephine Wants to Dance : A Musical for Kids

Josephine Wants to Dance

Based on the Book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley

Western Sydney audiences are in for a heartwarming treat as the beloved children’s book Josephine Wants to Dance by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley leaps from the page to the stage for two magical performances at Coliseum Theatre on Saturday 19 July.

This enchanting musical, brought to life by the award-winning team at Monkey Baa Theatre Company, tells the story of Josephine — a spirited kangaroo with a passion for ballet. Despite her brother’s insistence that kangaroos don’t dance, Josephine dreams of twirling in a tutu and performing on stage. When a ballet company arrives in the sleepy town of Shaggy Gully and faces an unexpected emergency, it’s Josephine who might just save the show.

“Engaging and entertaining with a delightful message that anything is possible if you work hard and persist.”
