Fresh off its 5-star run at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Definitely Not A Hungry Game: A Parody Musical returns home by popular demand for its biggest, boldest and most insane season yet at the newly reopened Eternity Playhouse in Darlinghurst. Packed with a freshly reworked script, a killer new production team and a stellar cast, this original Australian musical is heading to the next level this September as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival.
This hilarious parody musical is not only beloved by its local audiences in both Sydney and Adelaide but has gained a significant following online worldwide and amassed over 4.4 million views on TikTok and 6 million views on Instagram.
Definitely Not A Hungry Game: A Parody Musical debuted at the Sydney Fringe Festival in 2024 and is written by three young Australian artists, Robbie Alexander, Freya Moore and Alex Gonzalez. Boasting an 18-song original score and a book packed with non-stop jokes, pop culture references and homages to the original source material, this show is “the epitome of silliness and absurdity that makes the Fringe so fun.” – Play & Go Adelaide
2024 Sydney Fringe Best Emerging Producers, Dramafreak Productions, and new independent production company L&D Projects, have united to co-produce this season of the show and assembled a cast of 20 of Sydney’s finest performers across professional and independent stages to bring this outrageous show to life.
Stand-up comedian, performer, podcaster and star of the insanely funny Breaking the Musical, Edan McGovern steps into the director’s chair and brings her breadth of talent, knowledge and uniquely absurd sense of humour to this production.
Rounding out the creative team is the up-and-coming Aden Abeleda as Assistant Director, BroadwayWorld Australia Best Performer Luc-Pierre Tannous as Music Director, and Robbie Alexander, returns with his “exquisite choreography” – Fringe Feed
