Hello, hello, what’s all this then? Could it be that an Aussie reality TV dance show may just have delivered upon us our very latest pOp star? Well if the debut single by ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ runner-up Rhys Bobridge is anything to go by, it most certainly IS going to be a ‘Hot Summer’. Some may even say it’s going to be a hot hot summer. Teaming up with the boys from Van She Tech, Rhys is bringing life to the former number one hit for German pOpstars band ‘Monrose’ and we have the sneaking suspicion you’ll be hearing this all over the place VERY soon. Channel 10 is continuing a long tradition of station summer theme songs (remember Leah Haywood’s ‘Summer Of Love’ and Glaubitz & Roc’s ‘Sunshine Day’?) and have picked up the single as their summer anthem for 2008-2009.
There’s also a tasty swathe of remixes to go along with the title track – from Melbourne’s ‘Hundreds And Thousands’ and ‘Trumpdisco’ to Canberra’s ‘The Ashton Shuffle’, all of whom will be heating up the dancefloors to ensure that this summer is going to be a hot one indeed.
No in-store details just yet, (we’ll bring them to you as soon as we know), but we’re assuming that the track will be available digitally from early next week.
