Michael Schwandt – $30,000 Hollywood Summer Tour Scholarships Giveaway

The Hollywood Summer Tour, founded in 2006, is an INVITATION ONLY dance career intensive intended for advanced dancers who are serious about learning about the commercial dance industry in Hollywood. ​It will provide each dancer with all the tools needed to get started and be successful in the dance industry.  Only a select group of elite dancers from all over the world get to participate in this prestigious program. They will be mentored by top industry professionals who are actively working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.
MICHAEL SCHWANDT is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and creative visionary who has worked with some of the Industry’s top Celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Katie Perry, and whose inspired creative direction can be seen in productions such as the Miss Universe Pageant and many more. Michael will soon be hitting our Australian shores and has been honored with the exciting responsibility of giving away $30,000 worth of scholarships to the Hollywood Summer Tour throughout his Workshop Tour to exceptional dancers working their craft!
Michael has long been a supporter of Australian talented dancers. He recently assisted Timomatic in making his US debut at the Miss Universe pageant.
Two well known Aussie dancers that have been mentored and assisted by Michael are Carly Cooper Smith and Caitlin Wheeler.  Here is a little of what they had to say about Michael …

Carly:

“Michael Schwandt is a world renowned choreographer who has endless credits to his name but he is much more than that. He is one of the most passionate, creative and inspiring people I am lucky enough to have come across in my life. Michael gives his heart and soul and really understands the wants, needs and desires of a dancer and performer as he has gone through that himself & passes on his knowledge and energy in every class he teaches. I was lucky enough to be put in contact with Michael in Australia, assisted him in a class in Sydney and he then went on to sponsor me which enabled me to move to Los Angeles in March of 2012. Its been a year since I first moved here and I am lucky enough to be in his presence and assist him over here as well as many other things I only ever dreamed of doing before I met Michael. I cannot put into words how much he has changed my life – I am truly so blessed just to know him. Australia, go and take Michael’s class!”

Caitlin:
“I first met Michael in 2008 when I assisted him in Melbourne on his workshop tour. Since then I have worked closely with Michael in Los Angeles. I look up to Michael as a mentor, a colleague and a great friend. He is one of the most educating, artistic, creative, humbled person I know. From an early stage I learned about Michael’s drive, intensity and creative genius, and how much I would sweat and be challenged in his classes! And if you have taken one of Michael’s classes you know exactly what I’m talking about 🙂
Since then I have been so fortunate to work on numerous projects as a Choreographer, Dancer, Fitness Trainer and Assistant. The opportunities Michael has provided me have been on a National and International level. I have been lucky enough to work on Miss USA in Vegas working with Cobra Starship, Miss Angola 2012,2013 in Angola Africa as Assistant Choreographer and Fitness Trainer, Direct Tv as a Dancer, UNICEF Anti-Violence Video as Assistant Choreographer, Mandalay Bay New Years Eve Event as a Dancer in Vegas, and most recently NIKE choreographing 6,000 kids in a workout/dance piece with Michele Obama and high profile Olympic athletes such as Serena Williams, Gabby Douglas, Dominique Dawes, Bo Jackson, etc and Jordin Sparks. I have also choreographed numerous Competition routines with Michael that have been used nation wide.
My career would not be where it is today with out the guidance and opportunities Michael has provided.
Most of all Michael is the most down to earth humble person I know. He is always willing to provide advice, help you grow as an artist and provide opportunity after opportunity. I definitely look up to Michael and any student or professional dancer that gets to work with him will immediately grow and will learn so much to benefit their career!”

Michael’s NATIONAL TOUR starts this coming weekend 9th March. His schedule will take in the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Central Coast, Wollongong, Adelaide, Melbourne, Mt Gambier, Perth and Darwin this year.
