Boys on Show in MACHISMO

An exciting dance project will perform two shows only in Chatswood, Sydney, on April 16th. BJ Rorke has resurrected his MACHISMO dance crew with new team members and featuring up-and-coming young males dancers selected from recent auditions.

Presented by A-Live Entertainment, the MACHISMO – Live Dance Show will be choreographed by BJ Rorke and Dayton Tavares in a fresh blend of various dance styles. MACHISMO will be performed by some of Australia’s best male dancers – Dayton Tavares, Robbie Kmetoni, Neale Whittaker, Andrew Huynh, Nathan Isaac, Brandon Atoui and Jal Joshua.

“Dayton Tavares and myself will be choreographing the show and our goal is to create opportunities for young and professional dancers and at the same time show everyone how exciting commercial dance can be when performed by only male dancers,” said BJ.
The show will include incorporate Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary, Breakdance, Acrobatics, Singing, Lyrical, Beatboxing and more! There will also be a few special guests acts including Tee Toleafoa from X-Factor Australia.
“A lot more boys and men now have come to dance because of hip hop and breakdancing, but in this show I wanted to show that men can dance in all styles and still make it look exciting and engaging for the audience. Men don’t have to just do hip hop!”

Joining them on stage will be a 15 young men who were selected from a special audition held in February looking for exciting new talented dancers (14 years +). “We have chosen 15 of our ‘Next Gen’ male dancers who will feature in three numbers in the show,” said BJ Rorke. “There was some real talent on show at the audition and I have plans to work with them in the future on other projects.”

Following the show, a few of the cast will be conducting workshops in Canberra, the Central Coast, Christchurch, Auckland, Hobart and Perth. There are limited spots, and for more information contact
