Acclaimed new circus cabaret experience – Limbo Unhinged – will perform at the Sydney Opera House this summer unleashing pyrotechnics, sword-swallowing and aerial shenanigans against a pulsating live soundtrack from January to March 2018.
Created by the masters of cabaret circus, Australia’s own Strut & Fret (Blanc De Blanc, Cantina, Tom Tom Crew), Limbo Unhinged earned a slew of rave, five-star reviews when it premiered as part of this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival.
It boasts an all-star international cast of devilish, sexy performers, including Coney Island Sword Swallower Heather Holliday (USA), Australian tap and dance sensation Hilton Denis, Chinese Pole master and beatboxer Mikael Bres (FRA), aerial wiz Marco Motta (BRA), hand-to-hand experts Charlotte O’Sullivan (CAN) and Nicolas Jelmoni (MCO), alongside the acrobatic expertise and comedic timing of Rémi Martin Lenz (GER).
Sydney Opera House Head of Contemporary Performance, Danielle Harvey says, “Limbo Unhinged is a party like no other. It takes the seductive edge-of-your seat thrills of Limbo (Sydney Festival 2014 & 2015) to a whole new level. If you think you know circus, think again!”

Scott Maidment, Director of Limbo Unhinged and founder of Strut & Fret says, “Limbo Unhinged is a breath-taking wild ride performed by a mix of international performers and musicians with VERY unique talents. Get ready Sydney Opera House!”
Reprising his role as Musical Director & Composer (AKA ringleader), New York-based performer/composer/producer Sxip Shirey leads the live ensemble with his original beats and melodies, alongside Sydney musician Mick Stuart. The crew is rounded out by acclaimed Lighting & Set Designer Philip Gladwell (UK) and Australian costume designer James Browne (Blanc de Blanc, Velvet, Cabaret).
Enter the gritty, steamy underworld of Limbo Unhinged with your friends, but be warned… anything can happen.
