Opera Australia‘s seeking 9 Male Dancers for its Melbourne season of KING ROGER.
Casual contracts will be offered from 27 April 2017 with four performances at the State Theatre, The Arts Centre, Melbourne finishing on 27 May 2017.
9 Male Dancers – technically advanced, professional dancers with exceptional skills in contemporary dance, choreographic improvisation and contact improvisation. Dancers must possess strong teamwork skills and be willing to collaborate in the creative process. Dancers must also be comfortable bare-chested and performing with minimal costuming. Experience working with complex musical accompaniment is an advantage.
This audition process will be conducted by reviewing video footage submitted by dancers.
CASTING DATE & SUBMISSIONS

You will be required to upload the following materials:
1. CV/resume;
2. Headshot and full-length image;
3. Video link to 1-2 minutes of contemporary dance improvisation, in a studio, no loose clothing.
Materials will be reviewed and individuals who are shortlisted will be notified. Final casting decisions will be made as a result of the video links provided — we encourage dancers to ensure their video is adequate quality.
REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
Studio rehearsals take place at Docklands Studios and stage rehearsals at Arts Centre Melbourne. Dancers must be available to attend morning, afternoon and/or evening calls over the studio rehearsal period, on any day except Sundays.
