HELP THE MERRYMAKERS GET TO DISNEYLAND

HELP THE MERRYMAKERS GET TO DISNEYLANDIf you came to the Australian Dance Festival in 2009, you would have noticed that we had some very special guests – the MerryMakers! A group of dancers of all ages who have one thing in common, a love of dance and an intellectual or physical disability. The MerryMakers are a shining example of how dance can bring joy into our lives, no matter what our personal difficulties. Their feelgood story has led to Andrew Denton presenting a documentary about them called “The Music In Me” and more recently, an invitation from Disneyland to perform.
On Sunday 1st August, the MerryMakers will be having a Danceathon “Dance2Disney” to raise the funds required to get them there. They are looking for:
a) Dance teachers to get the danceathon started by teaching 2 x 1 hour workshops.
b) Dancers who want to help raise funds and take part in the Danceathon.
c) Vouchers for their goody bag which will be given to all dancers enrolled in the Danceathon. This will be great marketing for businesses and you will be helping a good cause.
VENUE: Hornsby RSL
DATE: Sunday 1st August
TIME: 10am – 4pm
If you can spare some time and you’re looking for some “chicken soup for the soul” then come along and be a part of “Dance2Disney” You will create some memories which will last a lifetime!
