Ever wondered how you can help your dancers reach peak physical condition?
Want to give them the best foundation possible for a long-lasting career?
Do you want to be creating strong, healthy and adaptable performers who are ready to tackle any choreography that gets thrown their way?
With Band-ITS strength and conditioning exercise programmes, your dance students will benefit from learning how to apply the latest research in functional fitness, mobility and strength to their dance practice.
It's brand new, engaging, effective and applicable across all levels and genres of dance.
Designed by a physiotherapist and ex-professional dancer, Band-ITS is the ideal strength training programme for anyone wanting to give their dancers the best possible start to a long-lasting and injury free career. Adding Band-ITS to your studio schedule will add variability to your students’ training. This leaves you the time and energy to focus on what you do best – creating wonderful dancers.
Save money (and space!) on expensive gym equipment and run the Band-ITS programmes from the comfort of your own studio. All equipment is small, portable and inexpensive. It can be purchased by the studio or the students and costs less than a pair of pointe shoes.
2019 Workshop Launch: Band-ITS Barre
This strength and conditioning certification programme is ideal for any dance teacher who wants to do more to empower their students. This workshop can be taken as either a face-to-face course or via online learning.
The Face to Face Workshop runs over 2 days (16 hours total) and includes the course manual, the full Band-ITS kit and is instructed by Band-ITS director, Sally Harrison.
The online learning workshop is 9 hours, spread over 4 weeks. This also includes the course manual and the full Band-ITS kit.
Both options lead to certification, allowing you to teach the Band-ITS Barre programme in any dance studio. Please note that a fixed barre is required for the Band-ITS Barre programme. There is enough course material for two hours of constant teaching. It can be broken up either as an hour class, or a 30 minute “express” class.
The programme trains the body both on the floor and standing to help create symmetry, establish quality movement patterns and prevent injury. It tones and strengthens without leading to bulky muscles.
Using resistance bands with different strengths and safe attachments, the equipment is ideal to strengthen the legs, hips, core and upper body. It can be adapted to suit different levels, with appropriate regressions and progressions for each exercise.
Over the next couple of years we will be launching more workshops for dancers:
1) Band-ITS Core: A shorter session with greater focus on hip and pelvic stability
2) Dancers Tune-up: A full body release programme with focus on myofascial release and dynamic mobility. This uses Roll Model release balls.
3) Band-ITS Body: A full body training programme with no Barre required
