At the end of July Project Dance came to Sydney to showcase dancers and to celebrate dance. Project Dance is a movement of dancers seeking to positively impact culture through artistic integrity. Thier desire is to see every dancer nurtured to their fullest human potential for their own wellbeing and their contribution to the world. They offer training, education, and performance opportunities for dancers worldwide who desire to dance with integrity to inspire.
This year Project Dance Sydney was electric. With dancers from all over the world showcasing some of the finest dancers around at Circular Quay. The Saturday concert went all day and dance was featured non stop. Project Dance is straight out of New York City and Producer Cheryl Cutlip is a Radio City Rockette from Broadway New York. Professional dancer Lara Bianca Pilcher was instrumental in Project Dance hosting their first event overseas she is the director for the Sydney event and she says that ‘Australia needs Project Dance, it is an opportunity for our great nation to host dancers from across the globe and an opportunity for local dancers to showcase their work in a public outdoor setting that is set aside for dance alone, it’s all dance!’ The next Project Dance Sydney event will be July 2010. They hope many more Australian dancers will leap onto this fast moving train. Project Dance also hosts events in Hong Kong and Atlanta. Check out www.projectdance.com for more information.
