Schools Spectacular – one of the world’s biggest youth variety events – promises to colour your world in 2010 with a brilliantly choreographed and costumed production performed on an epic scale with over 3,000 singers, dancers and musicians representing more than 300 NSW public schools from across NSW.
This inspirational performing arts showcase will light up the Sydney Entertainment Centre with four shows only on FRIDAY 26 & SATURDAY 27 NOVEMBER. Audiences will have the chance to see the wealth of talent and versatility in public schools, and the dedication, commitment and creativity of the teachers who nurture that talent.
This stellar night of entertainment has been captivating audiences since 1984 and will feature a 1000-voice choir; an 80 piece orchestra; 1800 dancers aged from 5 to 18; rock, jazz, brass and marching bands with featured soloists aged from 10 to 18.
Schools Spectacular has launched the careers of a host of Australia’s most popular performers including Human Nature, Paulini and John Foreman and has introduced tens of thousands of students from NSW public schools to the thrill of performing to capacity houses.
Schools Spectacular is presented by the NSW Department of Education and Training with the support of principal sponsor Telstra. Technology provided by Telstra allows schools to access choreographic elements of the show via the internet and also links remote schools to live webcast rehearsals allowing production staff to coordinate the show from locations across the state.
