AusDance Awards are Back!

Australian Dance Awards Return

Nominations for 2018/19 Close July 20

In the face of many budget cuts, last year AusDance National announced that the Australian Dance Awards would no longer be held after 21 years of the event recognising achievements in diverse Australian dance.

However, this decision was reversed thanks to support from sponsors and the AusDance network. Then, due to COVID19 the Awards were further placed on hold. Now, AusDance National is reintroducing the Australian Dance Awards in 2020, covering the last two years of performances, in 2018 and 2019.

Nominations will close on Monday 20 July.

The annual Australian Dance Awards recognise and honour professional Australian dance artists who have made an outstanding contribution to dance.

To be eligible for an award for new work (i.e. choreography, film, independent work), the piece must have premiered between 1 January and 31 December in either 2018 or 2019. If a work was not a premiere in this period, you can still nominate a dancer or company for an outstanding performance award in one of those years.
