WHAT CHU UP 2

Corporate Gigs have been a great source of work for dancers over the last few months (well years) but it’s also been great to new choreographers getting their chance to show off their talents. DanceLife thought you might be interested to know what a few Sydney Siders have been up to over the past few months. Remember if you are working on some great projects please email us blog@dancelife.com.au. We are always looking for great stories on talent people!
I’M LOVING IT
What do you get when you have 1500 McDonalds delegates from all over Asia-Pacific wearing Ronald wigs and burgers on their shirts in the one room? Well I guess it would be like the Ronald McDonald Birthday Party minus the kids and add a whole lot more beef patties… Bianca Gallifuoco was thrilled when she was asked to choreograph the opening number for the night. Bianca recruited dancers Ilona Fabiszewski, Yannus Sufandi, Eric Devellerez, Hilton Denis and Rhiannon Villareal to make the stage come alive. Not only were there dancers in the opening but parkour performers (guys who jump from structure to structure – very high and very scary structures!) and live percussionists also took the stage.
BIG DEAL EVENT, FIRST TIME CHOREOGRAPHER
All you need is that one opportunity to show what you can do and if you prove yourself and make the right connections you could be popping out choreography for corporate gigs here there and everywhere. Ashley Syne was selected to the whole event for the KPMG Black and White Ball held at Sydney’s new hip space – The Ivy. Dancers on this gig included Kasey Osborne, Bianca Gallifuoco, Katrina Cameron, Katrina Pattalis and Courtney Watt. Congrats Ashley!
BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN
Singing sensation Duffy was in Australia last week for a small promotion which included an appearance on the new Channel Seven Show ‘Sunday Night’. Choreographer Ilona Fabiszewski and Assistant Choreographer Bianca Gallifuoco hired six of Sydney’s spunkiest dancers Jordon Pollard, Eli Crawford, Daniel Garofali, Paul Bennett, Graeme Issako and Andrew DeLuna to dance alongside Duffy to her track ‘Rain On Your Parade’. Catch the boys do their thing on Sunday 15 February, 6.30pm, Channel 7.
