Young Dancers Take Flight in Fanciful New Ballet

Melbourne City Youth Ballet present Peter Pan

Melbourne City Youth Ballet dancers will take flight in a fanciful new ballet, when they present Peter Pan at the Clocktower Centre on 10 June, 2017. The infamous story of the young boy who never grew up will be brought to life on stage, where swashbuckling pirates, spirited lost boys and mischievous fairies will enchant children and audiences of all ages.

Choreographed by Artistic Director Yuiko Masukawa, the adventurous ballet follows the story of the Darling children; Wendy, John and Michael, as they are whisked from the beds one night to the magical world of Neverland. Full of beloved characters Melbourne City Youth Ballet’s interpretation of JM Barrie’s classic story is a fun and lively production that the young dancers are rehearsing with such excitement.

Following on from the highly successful production of Coppelia earlier in the year, Peter Pan will be the second production for the year for the youth Company. With a huge number of tickets already sold the Company is thrilled that their productions are being received so well. “It proves that there is an eager audience out there, wanting to see and experience as much live performance as possible,” says Masukawa. “This is fantastic, as it means that not only are people being exposed to great talent and enjoying the arts, but the next generation of dancers are also being supported by their local community.” she continues.

To support these young dancers we encourage you to book your tickets and follow us, as we make our way to the second star on the right and straight on ’til morning!
