LET'S DANCE WITH TIMOMATIC!

Timomatic 1
Disney Channel are offering DanceLife readers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity… the chance to feature in Australian star Timomatic’s new dance video for his new song Save the Dance Floor!

WHO:
Australian boys and girls aged 8 to 18 years can film and submit a video of themselves dancing. Disney Channel will then select a number of the dance videos, and these dance videos will feature in the new Timomatic dance video.
WHAT TO DO: DanceLife readers are directed to the Disney Channel website here where you will be required to learn up to four set dance moves demonstrated by Timomatic himself, film yourself dancing these moves in up to four separate 15 second videos and upload your clips. This is a money can’t buy, potentially career-making opportunity for young dancers!
HOW DOES IT WORK? Once participants have uploaded their dance clips, they can then share these videos amongst a variety of social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest. Disney Channel will air highlight entries weekdays from 5pm-7pm until entries close on July 10. Timomatic’s new dance video featuring a selection of Let’s Dance entrants airs in a world premiere on Disney Channel on July 23, 2012!

CHECK OUT: A behind-the-scenes sneak peak at Timomatic filming his new dance video for Save the Dance Floor, including a chat to camera about his thoughts on Disney Channel’s Let’s Dance and his own dance experiences here
We were lucky enough to get some feedback from Timomatic himself on his new project ‘Let’s Dance’!

Timomatic: Let’s Dance on Disney Channel

Are you excited about teaming up with Disney Channel for Let’s Dance?
I am super excited to be teaming up with Disney Channel’s Let’s Dance, I’ve been a fan of Disney ever since I was little so this is awesome.

Are you looking forward to seeing kids from all over Australia dancing your signature moves?
Most definitely. I’m pumped to see so many talented kids getting active and dancing with me.

How do you feel about a number of your fans getting to feature in your new dance video to Save the Dance Floor?
I think it’s really cool. I’ve been wanting to partner with kids on a clip for a while and now it’s happening!

What are you most looking for in the Let’s Dance submissions – what makes a video stand out?
Firstly you’ve got to have fun. Dancing to great music is one of the best things to do ever, that’s why I do it all the time so ENJOY yourselves. And also remember to show your own style and just be you. Don’t forget to check out the helpful tips and hints on the Disney Channel website.

How many auditions do you think you did before you hit the big time? How important is it to just have a go?
I’ve been to heaps of auditions and I’ve been turned down heaps of times too, but I always just stay and keep having a go until I get through. That’s what Let’s Dance is all about. You’ve got to just have a go and you don’t have to be a trained dancer. Disney Channel and I are looking for creativity, diversity and a love for dancing.

Where will you be watching the world premiere of your new dance video on Disney Channel on July 23?
I am currently traveling around the world but by July 23rd I should be back home in Sydney ready and waiting to watch my new dance video! Don’t forget to also tune in to Disney Channel Monday to Friday, 5pm-7pm from June 18 to see some of the Let’s Dance entries aired.
How important are your fans – how do they impact your career?
My fans are incredibly important to me and I love them. I really can’t do what I do without my fans so to know that there are people out there that appreciate and get inspired by what I do really makes me super happy.

If you could team up with one dancer for the ultimate dance off, who would it be?
I would definitely team up with Usher. He is about 10 years older than me so although he has more experience, I have more energy!!!

What’s been the best moment of your career so far?
My best career moment so far is seeing my debut single “Set It Off” go triple platinum. That was a dream come true!

What advice can you give to the up and coming dancers of Australia?
It’s all about two things, hunger and humility. Be hungry to learn as much as possible and be hungry to be better at your craft every day. And be humble and kind to people. It really does make a difference if you are a nice person because people will be attracted to you and want to work with you all the time.

We all grew up with Disney, what’s your favourite Disney moment/movie/story?
My favourite Disney of all time would have to be The Lion King. Every element of the movie from the story to the songs to the characters is so incredible. I don’t think I will ever grow too old to enjoy watching The Lion King.
