About DanceLife

Brief Intro

The idea for DanceLife started in November 2007 when Founder and Managing Director, Clint Salter wanted to start teaching dance again and was looking online for a list of dance studios in his area. After weeks of searching he realised that there had to be an easier way. DanceLife

What is DanceLife?

The dance and entertainment industry is growing at a rapid rate and it’s the perfect time for an online Australian dance community. The idea for DanceLife started in November 2007 when Founder and Managing Director, Clint Salter wanted to start teaching dance again and was looking online for a list of dance studios in his area. After weeks of searching he realised that there had to be an easier way. DanceLife started as a directory of dance studios, eisteddfods, workshops, photographers, concert venues, agents, health clubs, and other businesses that dancers and performers are always looking for. The idea evolved over time and the plan now is for DanceLife to have the most comprehensive dance related directory, making it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for quickly and giving everyone more time to enjoy life.

The other main function of DanceLife is the communities that lie underneath the DanceLife Umbrella. Once the directory was created an idea was formed to construct a social networking element to DanceLife, a place where all people interested in dance and performing could become part of a larger community. DanceLife provides all members the opportunity to add and view calendar events, suggest blog topics, post and reply to forum topics, upload and post photographs, create and become part of groups, sell items in the classifieds and see what castings and auditions are coming up.

The Blog is the place where everyone can view exclusive interviews with dancers from all over the world, upcoming Australian talent, tips for auditions and interesting stories on a range of dance related topics. Open communication between our members and ourselves is what we encourage. Members can shape the content of DanceLife which ensures that the website is always relevant and provides the information that our members what to know. DanceLife was created to be a one stop shop for the dancing community. Welcome to Australia’s home of dance.

Clint Salter

Managing Director and Founder

Born and raised in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, Clint’s relationship with the world of entertainment began at an early age. At the age of nine Clint joined his school’s dance group and finally he knew this is where he belonged. As his love for dancing at school grew Clint’s mother enrolled him into dance classes with Kristine Haines Academy of Dance at Narellan, the rest is history.

Throughout the years Clint participated in B.A.L. exams in Jazz, Tap and Ballet gaining honours in each. At age fourteen he became a student teacher, teaching alongside Macarthur’s number one dance teacher, Kristine Haines. Dancing was always Clint’s passion but the feeling he got from teaching a group of students how to dance was a feeling much more satisfying than performing on stage.

In 2000 Clint enrolled at Glenda Yee School of Dance where he was taught in the styles of Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Tap by industry professionals including William A Forsythe. During this time Clint also participated in open classes at Sydney Dance Company.

2002 was a big year for Clint as he was completing his year ten certificate but missed teaching dance. Clint and his dance friend from Kristine Haines decided to open a small dance studio at a local hall where they could teach dance to children who just loved to dance without the competitiveness, Born With It Studios was born. The studio started with forty students and in 2007 which was Clint’s last year with the studio had reached one hundred and fifty students. In 2007 Clint said goodbye to Born With It Studios due to full time work commitments.

In 2007 Clint completed a Diploma of Marketing majoring in Entertainment and Artist Management part time at APM College, where he was awarded Dux of his class. During his time at APM Clint was an enthusiastic speaker for the college promoting the facility and motivating current students.

With a strong background and knowledge of the entertainment industry Clint is now an Agent at The Harry M Miller Group. Clint looks after successful clients including Peter Morrissey, Zoe Bingley-Pullin, Michael Falzon and Jenny Kee. From April through to August Clint manages the Big Brother Housemates which includes organising housemate appearances, endorsements deals and liaising with Network Ten and Endemol Southern Star.

As well as working at The Harry M Miller Group Clint teaches at a number of dance studios throughout NSW and is a regular judge at a number of talent quests and eisteddfods. For more information or to book Clint for your next workshop or eisteddfod please email info@dancelife.com.au.
